Earlie,

One thing to consider is G7 only shipped about 10 days in Q4. Customers of this product have been waiting for a long time and aren't the flakey dot coms that will cancel orders. G7 alone might make up for quite a few revenue short falls in other areas. I'm not in contact with anyone in poukeepsie, so I have no clue how things are going.

Also, Q1 last year was when IBM got out of the retail PC biz, and if I'm recalling correctly, they lost something to the tune of $500M in that biz in that quarter.

We also haven't seen any cost cutting measures out of IBM.... yet. (ie, 75K laid off here, 26K there, etc)

In other words, Lou the fiddle might have another quarter left in him. Just a guess, I really don't have a clue. I'll get worried when memo's start floating around telling us to not get that new stapler and to cut back on excess printing.

PS- I'm due to be wrong one of these quarters, but believe G7 gives at least one more quarter of life. Possibly with the economy grinding to a halt they feel no need to warn because people are expecting them to miss. BWTFDIK?
