naturalhealthconsult.com

WHAT IS IT?

Transfer Factor Plus (formerly T-Factors Plus) Canine Formula is Transfer Factor XF™ plus other ingredients. Transfer Factor (TF) is extracted from white blood cells and is a oligoribonucleotide-peptide. Other ingredients include ThyRx™, a proprietary thymus blend and Cordyvant™, a proprietary immune blend. It also contains Montmorillanite, for a wide spectrum of minerals, and Brewers Yeast for vitamins.

This product is made to appeal to dog's tastes.

Each 2.3 gram serving contains:

Transfer Factor XF™ concentrated transfer factor from bovine colostrum 200 mg
Proprietary blend: 392 mg
ThyRx™ Thymus complex containing liposterolics, thymic T factor proteins and other proteinaceous compounds
Cordyvant™ polysaccharide complex:
Inositol hexaphosphate IP6
1,3 Beta glucan from Brewers Yeast
Beta glucan from Oat (Avena sativa)
Aloe Vera (200:1) extract

WHAT DOES IT DO?

This might be the most powerful immune stimulant available. It contains, along with Transfer Factor, several powerful immune stimulators.

Although known about since 1949 and with over 3000 papers written about it, Transfer Factor is just now making waves as possibly the most exciting immune system discovery ever.

Transfer Factors are protein immunomodulators that transfer the ability to express cell-mediated immunity from an immune-sufficient donor to an immune-deficient recipient or from an immunized donor to nonimmune recipient.

To understand why it is so important a few words about how the immune system works are in order. When a bacterial, viral or parasitic infection occurs, the immune system goes through several steps to eliminate it. First it must recognize it. Then it must gear up production of various WBC's, antibodies, complement, etc. to combat it. Then it must use large amounts of these weapons against the infection. All this takes time and may not be effective if the immune system is defective or the invasion is overwhelming. That is why we have vaccinations. We teach the immune system to recognize the invader before it strikes so it can be eliminated immediately before damage is done. It is also why we have antibiotics. Sometimes the immune system needs help. Suppose a nation is attacked. Which is better? In one scenario the nation has no army and knows nothing about the enemy. It has to mobilize, train troops, send out intelligence agents to find the enemy's weakness and then combat it. Such a nation is likely to lose before it can do all of this. In the other scenario the nation is expecting an attack, has a standing army ready for combat, and knows just how to fight the invader. Victory is likely.

Suppose that you are ill or want to prevent illness. You can transfer the immunity of someone who already has a immune defense against your illness to you. That is what a transfer factor does. Cows are exposed to various disease causing organisms and they mount a defense against them. The agent that is responsible for the defense can be extracted from the colostrum of the cow and given to a person or pet. It is like a nation without an army hiring one when it needs it or if it is dealing with an invader, having another already trained army helping out.

Transfer factor has three functions. First, it educates the immune system. It says, "look out for this invader and be prepared." It is like a vaccination. Secondly, it is effective at suppressing an overstimulated immune system responsible for autoimmune diseases. The immune system is modulated to work properly. Lastly, it provides memory of the disease or invader so that the person or animal will not get it again.

There are millions of TF's in existence. Every antigen (the part of the invader that the immune system identifies) needs a separate TF. A healthy, functional body misses about 50,000 of these TF's which is why we get sick. In the case of AIDS, the virus wipes out the white blood cells that provide TF. Cows are exposed to a vast number of pathogens (disease causing organisms) and are also given injections of certain viruses in order to stimulate immunity against them. Then this immunity is encapsulated and made available for human or pet use. The process is arduous and expensive. It involves an extraction and concentration of submicroscopic particles.

A general product which is made from cow colostrum (with no deliberate attempt to induce a specific disease factor) is Transfer Factor. This product acts as an immune system modulator. It increases NK cell activity and inhibits migration of macrophages away from the site of infection. Anecdotally, in humans such conditions as septicemia, sinusitis, influenza, diabetes, bronchitis, autism, infertility, the common cold, herpes, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE,) fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, among others have responded well to the product.

Information about Thymus extract may be found on the LTP page.

Information about IP6 may be found on the Inosophate page.

Beta glucans are polysaccharides that have powerful macrophage stimulating capacity..
