In today's chart, nothing! Ugghhh!!!! My "buy" signal lasted not even 24 hrs. Gosh, Dad, whipsawed again.!

Actually, I didn't buy the signal today because of that ominous contrarian indicator I posted last PM. all I did today was sell my corporate bonds - probably NOT at the top, but made a nice profit as I bought them last summer when they were yielding 7.5%. Think Mr. Inflation may continue to poke his head up, and ultimately I don't see that as good for bonds. more and more these days I'm beginning to think like the computer in War Games, an old movie with (I think) Matthew Broderick. The computer was analyzing the game "Global Thermonuclear Warfare" at the end of the movie and said something like: "Interesting game. Both sides lose. Only way to win - don't play the game....." That means CDs, USTreasury money market (not all those MM funds with that junk telecomm and utility paper), a junk bond fund like VWEHX which I kept, some gold stocks, and a couple of closed end mutual funds.....may step outside and check the weather if the DOW gets down into the high 9000s and the COMPX 1500-1750. |
