The funny thing is that these "optimistic" figures jibe with Glenn's estimate. If by the end of 2001 Amazon has $730 million in cash, this means that by mid February they would have about zero in cash, after having settled their accounts from the holiday season.

This is exactly correct. There is room for margin of error which I believe will make the vendors nervous. If Amazon ends 2001 with $650 million in cash, some vendors will be out about $70 million. I do not believe the vendors will be willing to take this risk.

Could you please elaborate on what is a "toxic deal?"
