I live in SF myself, and I have lived in Chicago, Boston, Austin, and LA. The thing I'll never understand is why all the wheelchair-bound homeless people seem to congregate in San Francisco. I mean, aren't they smart enough to pick a city that isn't covered with hills? What is up with that?

I lived in San Francisco for most of the '90's. I could never quite accomodate my own middle class sense of well being when it came time to walk over, around and through the homeless, gathered on any number of commercial streets in town.
