member back in the spring 2000 no one would listen to doom and gloomers? well I did and I glad.

now you are beginning to sound like Nicholas... LOL! It never ceases to amaze me that people insist on "predicting" beyond 3 days. In 90% of the cases it is irrelevant what a market does beyond three days. Every three days shorts can be renewed, or longs can be added too. An overall perspective of direction is helpful but not required. The market is a sawtooth, it is irrelevant to most traders whether it is on a downslope or upslope. Both allow shorting and longs about the same number of times.

To go into a market with a pre-determined mind set is great if you are right, but if you are wrong it can be just as detrimental to your wallet.

I am a "self confessed lousy shorter". Some people are able to play both sides of the trade without difficulty, like you BB. Some are better shorters than long and make all their money on the downside blips (intellignetspeculator.com) an example. She is short 90% of the time, long 10% even in a bull market.

Some people just prefer different styles. I can honestly say that my DT account would not have changed one IOTA had I believed the major downturn theory, because ultimately I don't feel comfortable shorting. I have limited success, but don't bring big bacon home, short.

A comment for the thread and not directed to BB

Each of us have a "system" that has at minimum kept us in the game. Those that had a very poor system are no longer with us....so be it. This is why I don't like the idea of "criticizing" another persons method of making money. If a person is flipping NT for .20c and making money and is "happy" who are we to judge??

I don't believe that it is constructive to continually challenge another persons method of trading, unless the challenge is put in such a way as to try to help that person improve. To criticize with the distinct purpose in mind of claiming superior skills is braggary..if thats a word.
