Java hits skids on first pass with global
standards group

infoworld.com

Sun Microsystems' first attempt to establish its Java programming language as an
international standard stalled Thursday as the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG)
voted "no, with comments" at its meeting in Fairfax, Va., according to JavaSoft officials.
The vote may only prove to slow the process down, however, and is not the last word on
the fate of Java as a worldwide programming standard.

Sorry about the Java clutter.
