In the discussion with average joe, however, it was a statement making the practical point that I could prove he made stuff up, creepy insinuations, by simply posting the insinuations and showing that he can't document any of them when challenged.
Here, there is a record. If you quote someone and they repeatedly deny having ever writing the stupid or otherwise objectionable quoted words, and challenge you to produce proof, the denial is true unless the proof is produced.
That is so obvious a point that I wonder whether you do, in fact, approve and defend average joe's tactic of insinuation with refusal to substantiate when objection is made? Average joe might think this to be the case.
