This is a language/meaning thing. You get it or you don't, or you do and find it fits an agenda to claim you don't.

This is your friend's remark:

(Note that an actual quote, "sentient," precedes the false quote, "truly alive.")

Further, I have repeatedly asked him to show evidence that I have generated such a "classification" or have uttered such words, and he has never produced the (specious) rationalization you are trying so hard to provide him. Ideological identification seems inadequate as a justification for soiling yourself so badly.
