You appear to be trying to prove that you came here as an apologist for average joe and his ethics.
I told you: he "lies" by insinuation.
And I've given you recent examples.
It is not "sloppiness" to misquote; if it were, he would simply say that's what happened. Only you have offered that excuse for him, or any excuse. Only you are implying that perhaps he has "misrecollection or other error."
It was not "sloppiness" to insinuate that Poet was an offshore trader, and to reply, when she confronted him, "It's not illegal, don't sweat it." If it had been, when she asked for a retraction and apology, he would have provided it.
It was not "sloppiness" to insinuate that I was a cartoon feminist who had been engaging in polemics about "male domination and power." If it had been, he would by now have provided some evidence, some justification, some quote, or simply said, when he saw I objected, that he hadn't intended that implication.
It was not "sloppiness" or "misrecollection" to call a charity site I posted a "land swindle," and to say you would get "a friend" to research it, but drop the subject after the initial bashing.
Only you are providing rationalizations for average joe's unethical behavior. He is not. He is simply a hit and run kinda guy.
The journalist reference was not to him, but came because you, in attempting to provide more rationalization for average joe's behavior, mentioned that you, yourself, use quotes for non-quotes. The very interesting Janet Malcolm/NYer case came to mind immediately; I imagine you thought of it, too.
Why the hell you are continuing to rationalize his egregious behavior is beyond me. You aren't even friends! What the hell is the point? He's a "bad" person.
Special meaning; very special. |
