Shack, Shaw, Peter, what I find most troubling is Greenspan's apparent head-in-the-sand attitude.

This morning he said in testimony (as I heard it) that perhaps the actual numbers on consumer spending are more reflective of consumer confidence levels than the Consumer Confidence index.

As I see it, he would have chosen whichever numbers supported his position instead of establishing his position and basing his policy on these indicators.

Just had a long walk. Lunch now.
