Capital Alliance discusses recent bachelor program Capital Alliance Group Inc CPT Shares issued 6,158,674 Feb 27 close $0.75 Wed 28 Feb 2001 News Release Mr. Toby Chu reports CIBT Reports Recent Developments of International Bachelor Degree Program Capital Alliance and its subsidiary, CIBT Canadian Institute of Business & Technology Corporation, have released recent developments relating to CIBT's new international bachelor degree program. A total of 110 full-time students has now enrolled in this new program, with the first group of students starting classes in September, 2000. "We are very encouraged by the considerable amount of interest this innovative new program has generated in such a short period of time," said Charles Chen, president of CIBT China. "With the interest to date, in addition to our expansion plans, we anticipate that the program's popularity and enrolment will grow significantly over the next several years." CIBT's new international bachelor degree program consists of two major areas of study -- business administration and computer science. This program requires that students complete the first half of their course work with CIBT and the Computer Institute of Beijing Polytechnic University in Beijing, China. The Beijing stage of the program runs two to three years. Over the final two years of the program, students will study abroad with CIBT's foreign partners. CIBT has now partnered with five foreign universities to jointly offer this program including: Royal Roads University (Victoria, B.C.), La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia), Assumption University (Bangkok, Thailand), University of Portsmouth (Portsmouth, United Kingdom) and the Schiller International University -- the American College of Switzerland (Leysin, Switzerland). CIBT is currently in negotiations with several foreign universities that when finalized, will significantly enhance the value of the international component of the program.
