Merhdad - Seems like Old Home Week, with COMS up to its usual pranks. 3Com lowers profit target (COMS) cbs.marketwatch.com; By Alexander Davis Two days after announcing it would cut 1,200 jobs, 3Com Corp. warned Wednesday that it would fail to live up to previous expectations for its current quarter financial results. 3Com (COMS) said it expects to post a fiscal third-quarter loss of $135 million to $145 million on a pro forma basis, excluding restructuring charges and other extraordinary items. Revenue will be $625 million to $640 million. 3Com, a leading provider of networking equipment, cited the impact of deteriorating U.S. economic conditions and the continuing slowdown in the telecom sector. Shares knocked off 10 percent to trade at $8.13 on Island after closing up 1.4 percent at $9.13.
