Mark, that is NOT how the West was won! I'm not trying to be a heroic believer or anything either. I heard AG say today that the IT-driven productivity wave is still in place, that a survey of IT heads reveals that the buildout is half done. Importantly I heard him say that the economy reacts more quickly now because this IT infrastructure allows rapid decision-making, and an economic cycle that took years now takes months. He said that the Fed must react at the same speed. I heard him say we're not in recession. I don't know about the recession part, but he gets it, IMO. That should engender confidence.
