I agree...and this puts the management in the awkward position of either being brilliant, or being liars. In the current environment, I don't need to tell you which way the odds are skewed!

true true, any idea what the insiders are doing? I haven't checked.

Notice how long I was harping about Sun's inability to get USIII out and how IBM would benefit. We're still waiting for Sun. -ggg- How long will they be able to sell servers when their 64-processor servers underperform IBM's 24-processor servers and IBM is ready for another upgrade to POWER4? Time will tell. But from what I've heard from people on the Northwood project (next POWER4, which is public info), they're still laughing at Sun's engineers and TI. Add to that that they now fab for CPQ and HWP, it sounds like they get a peice of every big server sold now [and believe me, hell will freeze over before we fab for that scumbag McNealy (the insider selling at Sun when it was over $50 speaks for itself)]. Q4 saw record shipments of AS/400's and the first 10 days of G7. All while everyone else was in a major slump, including belweathers such as Cisco and Sun.

Brilliant or Liars???? Who the f*ck knows, but with 10,000 other stocks out there, I can think of a few better shorts. Depending on what happens over the next month and a half, I may even be buying calls ahead of earnings and lightening up on shorts ahead of an anticipated IBM lead rally. BWTFDIK? It could be a bad March and I'm not in a position to know anymore than you guys ahead of their earnings.....

BTW- this is the last comment of mine on IBM before their earnings. I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth and I'm really not in a position to know what's going on with a company of that size....
