Your comment about your mouse not being that smart or lively, causes me to ask the thread a question about my mouse. Namely why isn't my mouse (supplied with a Gateway 2000 model computer) as smart as the mouse that comes with a cheaper Dell computer (early 2001 edition)?

That is, the mouse icon within the Gateway control panel offers 3 selections: buttons (choice of right or left hand, speed), pointer, and motion; but the Dell computer mouse icon gives more options such as orientation, and within buttons - assignments (for each of 3 buttons) and scrolling size.

I would like those Dell options (It says Logitech on the Dell mouse) to be available to me so that I might check to see if I could better optimize my mouse for my needs. I feel now like I paid more but got a cheaper product. I got a stupid mouse!!

Is this a function of different mouse drivers? So therefore I just don't have such options with my mouse/driver combo. Or am I missing something? Other than not being knowledgeable enough to know enough to check for such features when I purchased my computer. (i.e. the mouse is normal, it's the owner who isn't too smart.)
