Actually I was wondering about your house; cracked foundation, cracks in drywalls, etc?

Nada.

They would be better off fighting battles they can win without looking like obstructionists. Bill gave GW a lot of momentum, it will be difficult for them to overcome it.

On the contrary, the Dems in the Senate can stall a tax cut bill for several months. The Reps logic behind a tax cut bill to stimulate the economy is faulty. This slowdown is not one caused by a slowdown in consumer spending but rather by corporate spending. To get corporate spending to move, you lower the cost of borrowing $$$ through fed rate cuts, not tax cuts.

The public wants a tax cut, why not? All the Dems are saying is be realistic...there are other obligations for the $$$ so lets not be greedy. People understand that logic....it makes sense. And they also understand that Bush is trying to buy their love. In the short term, that works; in the long term, no.

Bush is relying on appointees that worked with his father...apparently he has no creditable contemporaries. His policies sound very similar to his father's. The 'new' things he has introduced are retreads from the past....abortion, religion, etc. Two months into his administration, monotony has set in already.

Maybe the country needed a rest from Clinton innovation but after 4 years of Bush, I think they will be ready for a change back to some action.....I'm ready now.
