I've got WinME preloaded on my computer. Microsoft released it before there was any driver support, and I have wasted huge amounts of time bringing up standard peripherals on it.

The only advantage I see to WinME is that their networking installation software works a little better (provided you own one of three network cards which has drivers available.)

Basically, it looks like Microsoft is rushing products to market, and not coordinating releases with hardware vendors. For some reason, the box makers agreed to preload WinME on their systems, and the end user experience is almost as bad as bringing up Linux.
