Alex- Personally I have no real opinion of packet voice. I was just trying to get some other opinions about it from the thread. It seems like I do think VoIP is dead, but it's hard to avoid the insinuation using written words. Sorry about that.

Also I'm only referring to packet voice in the local loop. Not beyond the CO. In other words, end to end confuses the heck out of me. So I was only focusing on the local loop. Which I understand a little more and I'm generally not understanding what will drive packet voice rollouts.

But if you can add some color as to how VoIP in the core produces a significant cost savings, I would like to hear more about that. Also if it's so compelling how come we only hear about it year after year after year but no network is turning on packet voice in the core in any meaningful numbers? Or am incorrect in this assumption?

Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
