You are right Scott. What a pipedream!!! AT&T was burned when it bought an online service, InterChange, from Ziff and has been trying to extricate themselves ever since.

The very last thing any director of AT&T would do is sanction a purchase of AOL. AOL is vastly overvalued, something time will remedy. No director would buy such a rapidly depreciating asset, unless of course they wanted really BIG writeoffs.

No sane entity would buy out AOL at anywhere remotely close to its present market capitalization. Any talk of a premium is a real hoot.

It is clear though that the AOL bulls are starting to see reality and are looking for a way out.
