Levens stays with Packers

ESPN.com news services

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Dorsey Levens will remain with the Green Bay Packers after agreeing to take a pay cut.

His old contract called for him to make $6 million this coming season. The Packers would have cut him had he not significantly lowered that amount.

Levens' new deal calls for him to make between $1 million and $1.5 million this season. Incentives were added to the new deal that could raise his salary based on production.

The new deal allows the Packers to keep both Levens and Ahman Green, who became a productive starter for the Packers when Levens went down last season with knee problems.
