<<I'm sure glad all of the recent posts have been of highly substantive matters.>>
So what's so substantive about catty remarks about Suzie Gharib or nitpicking about this anchor's question or that news story's political slant. I will admit that our recent ravings about Maria are more than a little sophomoric, but PUH-Leese don't tell me that they weren't more juevenille than the postings that preceded them. For those of you nitpickers who criticize CNBC, get real, you try to program 12 hours of original news programming every day without the occassional minor daily fiasco. I think given the constraints and unpredictability of news events, the folks at CNBC do an admirable job of putting together an entertaining and informative broadcast every day. For those of you who complain about the show having "this political slant" or a "certain bias," I suggest that you people go back to your JFK or Vince Foster or Trilateral Commission conspiracy theories. Get real people, CNBC is not big brother, no one forces you to watch it every day. If you don't like the content of the show, just turn down the volume or watch CNN-FN or Headline News (which also features a stock ticker during the day) or log onto the Internet for your business info. You have the freedom of choice not to be "enslaved" by CNBC, use it. Meanwhile, the rest of us adolescents (Young Males 18 to 40, with high disposable incomes, who by the way are the most desirable demographics for broadcasters) will excercise our freedom to worship the financial reporting goddess that is Maria. VIVA Maria!!!! I want my Maria TV!!! |
