I think the manipulation strategy by the shorts is to put pressure on the metal prices, and load up on the mining stocks so that when they do cover they will make money on the mining stocks. Mining stocks move up much more than the price of gold/silver so if they can control when the price comes back up they can make $$$. Its the only way they will let it go as long as they have the resources to keep pressure on the metal. M.
