"What continues to puzzle me is why investors don't step up to the opportunity: how often does one get to buy quality companies at the low prices we are witnessing?"

Simple answer: They are scared shitless. I have not added.
What I have been doing is changing positions to take advantage of companies with better prospects or companies where stock prices have sunk to truly ridiculous levels. Oracle will be in that category for at least a day, probably more. Charting cant be used in these situations. Each security will make its own bottom. If tomorrow turns out as an up day for nasdaq we might actually have found a bottom. I will be happy to see oracle at 19 at the close but we will be at 17 at the open. Mike
