The FCX pref B is doing pretty good, coming from around 17 not too very long ago to 20+ today.

This is the one that 'matures' at 10% of the gold price (I think in 2007, but could be another year). In other words, if gold stays at 265, this stock will be worth 26.50 at maturity, and pays about 5% dividend all the while.

I like it...bought it at 17-ish some time ago, watched it go to 22-ish and back down. To me it's a pretty safe way to play gold. Plus $20-gold plain date coins from circa 1900, which I adore as a hedge against economic meltdown, or worse. Ya never know!
