from the LP "Second Winter"..I was listening to that just a couple weeks ago..man that is spooky! It was my first WINTER LP.. a gift from a guy that worked for Johnny Cash (I was about 12 I think)...the cool thing was it was a 3-sided LP...2 records but one side was blank
Picked up the CD a while back and it worked it's way back into rotation at the Lostranch-ero

I've been a Johnny Winter fan my whole life....first time I saw him he blew the roof off the old ARCADIA Theater in Dallas...every time I see him now I'm sure it'll be the last time as he's in very poor health. THe gut wrenching howl is gone...he's blind and looking very frail..but the dood can still wail on guitar. Nothing like the old days but I make the show every year. LAtely he's been playing ANTONES to 1/2 capacity crowds (200), which is a great place to see anyone.

nice look at Second Winter tralfaz-archives.com

notice we have one TOMMY SHANNON on bass..He of the Double Trouble legacy. TOMMY and Chris Layton were Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section , as I"m sure you know, and went on to anchor ARC ANgels which included CHarlie Sexton and the great DOyle BRamhall II. CHarlie is out on the road with DYLAN and DOYLE wields an AX on the road with one Roger Waters. Double Trouble then did the honors for a band here in Austin known as Storyville, which also included a couple of slingers by the name of David Grissom and David Holt. Grissom is now back in Joe ELy's band after stints with Mellencamp a few years back

ALL this and more takes place in Austin Tx on any given Sunday..or monday..or.......

In fact DT has a new CD out featuring various guest stars on vocals.."Been A Long Time" is the name and they recorded an excellent Austin City Limits you should take note of

thanks for the memories Mr.M..always a pleasure to talk with you
