Oh, no. It didn't sound that way to me at all. I was reflecting on Yogi's comment about racism. I was hoping he would respond to you to clarify why he thought racism was behind some international adoptions.

I can't imagine why any racist would want to go through the hassle and expense of an international adoption if they had racist attitudes toward the child for whom they were accepting responsibility. Makes no sense to me. I thought he might mean that some people, not the adoptive parents, consider it racist to deprive a child of its birth culture. I've heard of African Americans who would rather see a child remain institutionalized than be adopted by a couple of another race. IMO, anyone who takes that attitude is in need of a shrink.

I can't imagine race being a factor in my love for a baby or anyone else.

I just mentioned my experience with a particular family.

I share your disgust with that family. That baby was fortunate to not get stuck there. You were wise to turn your back on them.
