jill...i've been buying at various levels on tech companies with low pe to growth, strong fundamentals, and that have begun a basing and successfully tested their lows.....any up day gives a glimpse of that which are relatively strong...

to enter a position at this point on any issue that has yet to bounce off a new low, stabilize and perhaps retest is extremely risky....that which sets a new low tends to set lower lows until the selling subsides, which in essence is the beginning of a base...the longer the base, the more it tests, the stronger support and ability to sustain an advance becomes a greater probability...

look at issues that are frequently mentioned on this thread...extr,ntap,orcl,avnx,cmrc,jnpr,intc,brcm,csco,jdsu,etc...have been setting lower lows and highs, no sign of a base...others as qcom, rmbs, msft, atml, xlnx, dell, amat are attempting to begin and maintain a basing, trading off their lows and attempting to set higher highs and lows...
