Dave: I've been trying to figure out what happened with AMCC yesterday, and I'm coming to the conclusion that it was the sheer novelty of its CNBC pre-announcement that contributed to the big bounce. I think a lot of people just said to themselves, "Wow! That's cool -- AMCC just warned on CNBC!" You get a few buyers in there to panic the shorts, and it's off to the races. I bet some CEOs out there are thinking that AMCC rally was very interesting and are probably trying to line up their own CNBC pre-announcement specials. It'll be interesting to see how many times this tactic works.
