The point you are missing is that the Internet is doing just fine at replacing the floppy for small (less than a megabyte) files. It's far easier (and cheaper) to e-mail a small file than to mail a floppy.

Ask yourself how often you actually use 3.5" floppies in your daily life. Now ask yourself why that is?

Zip100 Media prices are coming down, but on IOM's timetable. When the drive sells for $99 you'll see the media selling for $9.95 quantity one ($6-$7 in bulk) and the game will be over.
