How it robs individuals of humanity to expect them to be considerate and responsible in their relationships with others beats me
Don't be silly. You were talking about claims against others. Others can think for themselves as to what is considerate and what is not. They simply don't need to meet your demands, or your manner of thinking. You are not the benchmark for others to follow.
Of course, what you said was that you had a claim on me! And I said you did not! I did not say that "expecting" robbed anyone of anything! Expecting is a private hope which does not involve DEMANDS or any CONTROLLING, right?!
Now it was you that backed down from the CLAIMS/DEMAND with which you leaped into this bit of quicksand. It is you who now use "expectations". That makes me happy!
Now just to be clear: I DON'T HAVE ANY DISAGREEMENT with you having "expectations" (what a cute flip you did on that)! It was I waving the flag for the right of people to think for themselves and to make their own value judgments, right?? I was the person who defended the right of people to be free from the claims of others, right?? So, why would you pretend the ludicrous proposal that I would be against your refined policy of "expectation"?? :)
You're fully into the "EXPECT" now, are you?! No more claims against others?! You recognize that you can't claim my respect or any other values, because my thoughts and values are not yours to claim?! Well, I'm extremely happy about that!!
I said you had no claim on me, and that you could not enforce any demand on me: I guess you realize now that I was telling you the unvarnished truth! Expectations were never part of our argument--as you know! :). It had nothing to do with it--as you know :). We all HAVE expectations. Who would argue about that, LOL! Yes, again: Who would argue about the rights of a person to think for themselves--to have their own thoughts?! Doesn't sound like an argument I would make, does it?! LOL!
Now that we have no more points of disagreement, I consider the matter complete! Now go take on the day... |
