Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply.

Re: 4G development is already going on in an almost parallel effort.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I read here is that efforts to make VoIP compatible, protocol wise, is what is being worked on. TTBOMK, there is no current effort on the part of the FCC to allocate or auction spectrum for 4G networks in the US and I'm unaware of any moves by the European or Asian regulators along these lines. Furthermore, I am not hearing of IEEE, ITU or EITA committee work on standards for 4G (PeterE - any word on this?). Thus, the effort is vendor-specific at this time if I understand the situation correctly, as I suspect there's more to story than I know.

So, I'd like to ask the question again, if I may, without being argumentative. It is my belief that 4G network services will not go into commercial service before 2008. I'm wondering if you have a target date and a series of milestone progress markers, i.e. spectrum auctions completed, ASICs taped out, handsets and base stations manufactured, to indicate that this development can possibly occur in any shorter time frame. Thanks for any reply. :)

Best, Ray
