14:38 ET Redback Ntwrks (RBAK) 28 13/32 -3 5/32 (-10%): LightReading reports that Juniper (JNPR) was close to sealing a deal to acquire Redback, until the former's stock price collapsed. Juniper said to have an extended an offer to Redback on Monday, following extensive talks, only to have the deal fall apart after JNPR shares tumbled. Sides may resume talks in a few weeks... Site also reports that Nokia (NOK) has been kicking the tires at RBAK, as well, but has not made an offer.
