PW ...
and to the thread ...

I'm considering what kind of stuff to order so I can have my 15yr old Granddaughter *(and perhaps, but only maybe, my 16yr old Grandson accompany her ...ggg) come up for a weekend visit and together we'll build them another box ...
they only have two in the house .... but sometimes there are three wanting to use two ... and
grandaddys were designed to fix those kind of difficulties .... hehehehe

anyway ....
I've about decided to get the best for the money of a 700-750-800-850
AMD Athlon or AMD Thunderbird and I haven't even gone far enough in my exploration to know WHAT is the dif in them, as they could be the same as far as I know right now, just called dif using dif slots as the AMD site that I just glanced at wasn't very clear ....

I'm gonna use a PowerColor mainboard ... had my hands on one this week and really liked the design and the "feel" of it and it runs a 200mz FSB...
plus it'll handle up to a Gig CPU so chip speed upgrade in the future won't be a hinderance ....

anyone have any idea or recco on Athlon or TBird ...
I've used other AMD chips and have been pleased with them ..

I'll probably stay away from overclocking their unit, as I haven't speeded up either of the two they have now.
any help out there ???????
