William, It would be interesting to see what actually is in the arbitration filing. The CBSMarketwatch story mentions that the client is also blaming Blodget for JDSU. The connection between Blodget and JDSU escapes me.

As the for the linking of an opinion and an M&A transaction, the client better have some "smoking gun" proof because he will probably need some. Otherwise, I don't think that approach will get very far.

It wasn't clear to me whether or not the guy's broker told him to buy or not in March. If the guy bought the stock totally on his own, then that's another strike against him. If he bought in March based on his broker's solicitation, then it is more interesting.
