here's a copy of a rare useful post on yahoo:

messages.yahoo.com

" SYK had an analyst meeting yesterday at the SF AAOS meeting. SYK website has the
archived webcast of the conference. Must for any serious CRIS investor, lot of
information from them on OP-1 progress amlng aothers:

* 3 studies ongoing. Discussed results (canadian fresh fractures - 50% patients enrolled)
, periodontal (enrollment complete), spinal cage - pivotal study to be started in 2001

AAOS meeting has 9 scientific sessions and 15 posters re. OP-1 applications.

Japan filing for approval (for post uretrenal(?) fusion) by the year end.

Other things discussed - AHP's BMP-7, other bone products, label issues/differences at
Europe and Australia, potential novel orthopharma applications like OP-1 gene therapy
and cell therapy applications (THIS IS BIG DEAL), articles in medical journals, potential
pricing etc.

These guys are thorough in their business approach and their committment. Sad that
FDA had non approval but they are optimistic about working out the issue with FDA and
eventual marketing worldwide.

So starting from seconf half this year in Europe and Australia followed by Japan and
USA and tons of other indications being followed up, we have a winner here. "
