re: txn is a winner, a keeper, a truly world class company
I'll bet you've been saying that all the way down, from 100 to 28.
Cisco is down from 82 to 22. Have you been averaging down on that one, too?
EMC, 105 to 27.
And so on.
And those are the good companies. The second-rate ones, the concept stocks, the highly leveraged telecom startups trying to prove a market exists, the dotcoms, they've done a lot worse.
For most of my investing career, I've held stocks long enough to get LT cap-gains. That's how I've made most of my money. But, for the last several months, I've decided the market is going to be very volatile, and go nowhere. So, I'm buying the dips and selling the rallies, which seems like the way to make money now. At some point, I'll decide what we are close enough to the bottom, and I'll go back to LTB&H. But not yet. |
