ATMI, Inc., Armor Holdings, Inc. Added to S&P SmallCap 600 Index


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2001--Standard & Poor's will replace Xircom Inc. (NASD:XIRC) and Washington Group Int'l. (NYSE:WNG) in the S&P SmallCap 600 Index with ATMI, Inc. (NASD:ATMI) and Armor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AH) after the close of trading on Monday, March 5, 2001. S&P 500 component Intel Corp. (NASD:INTC) is acquiring Xircom Inc. via a tender offer anticipated to expire tonight, unless extended. Washington Group is being removed for lack of representation.

ATMI, Inc. is a supplier of materials, equipment and related services used worldwide in the manufacture of semiconductor devices. The company, headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Semiconductor Equipment sub-industry group and the Equipment Semiconductor industry group.

Armor Holdings, Inc. is a global provider of security risk management service to multi-national corporations and governmental agencies through its ArmorGroup Services division. The company, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 GICS Aerospace & Defense sub-industry group and the Manufacturing (Specialized) industry group.
