One thing I found which I havent seen mentioned just yet about CORV is that contrary to many SIer's statements on other threads, Corvis is not the only company with the all optical switch. A company called Tellium <private> has an all optical switch and also has contracts with Qwest and AT&T if I am not mistaken. I have no idea about the technicalities of how optical switches work but if I was Dr Huber I guess I would not want the whole world to see the product just yet in order to keep my lead in the market when you consider companies like Corning and Nortel ...etc...might have the engineering to reproduce it.

My vote is with Dr Huber because I am too familiar with the Ciena story having traded that stock from single digits to triple digits. I think alot of concern about the shares has to do with the lockup expiry and the lack of information forthcoming from the company about the products and capabilities of.

I agree, at under $10 the shares sure look appealing for the longer term. "specially if the optical network is the future which many are betting on.
