The shorts will be wasted when the next bull comes. This is not quite as outrageous a comment as it sounds. There are a lot of crap stocks that will double or triple (being 1/20 to 1/100 from the high) on the next really solid bear market rally. Being short now is a very tricky business. In most of the bear threads I tread very few people are entering new positions. Actually they talk a lot about going long. If you have any good shorts to enter I'd love to hear it. Right now the only shorts I have left are ALOY, AOES, CPKI, HOMS and XLA. And they are all tiny positions where I could survive a double without pain. I'd love to hear suggestions about stocks people feel are still worth a short this close to a near-term market bottom (I dont see a real chance at a true bottom until Oct). I'm sure they are still out there, just a little harder to feel good about. Eric
