Chairman Billy Tauzin: Bell Ringer

A lobbyist at work... don't know what the concrete results of this will be. Is there really any chance of the baby bells being allowed a larger slice of the pie, and would this have any beneficial effect on earlier deployment of real bandwidth to the home?

Someone posted this link in response to a remark I made saying the entertainment industry will need to buy in to providing broadband to the home user for it to happen - notably the way they bought in to the audio CD and then DVD media. I know what happened with videocassettes, Hollywood was opposed but they proliferated anyhow and in fact made the film industry a lot of money thru renewed interest in films.
