now THIS is a hot little program.... "StartupMonitor is a small utility that runs transparently (it doesn't even use a tray icon) and notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. It prevents those utterly useless tray applications from registering themselves behind your back, and it acts as a security tool against trojans like BackOrifice or Netbus." mlin.net another one of mike lin's programs, startup control panel was recommended to me tonight, and i flipped through this kid's software list and there was startup monitor i'll be installing it for sure. and maybe removing the program i installed earlier today, startup cop, and replacing it with lin's comparable tool. i think the closeness of the two programs just may be more beneficial than not. i hope someone here gets some use from startup monitor. it just seems like such a cool utility to me. :) mark
