Hi Alan,

I have no idea what the above is saying, and if I understand it correctly, I think his argument is completely wrong. Telcos don't care about what OS you are running on the gears. In fact, almost all telcom equipment startups that Cisco bought were using VxWorks or TMS.

Cisco is having a lot of digestive problems because
1) It has been buying technologies that don't have viable business models.
2) It's being doing digital stuff for too long. It's wireless-related acquisitions have been disasters. Cisco's doesn't have the operation people and management knowledge to handle wireless products.
3) It's a new guy in charge of acquisition today than before, and this guy appears clueless.

TMS and VxWorks are the standard for telecom infrastructures equipment today. NT is simply doing what everyone else is doing.
