semiconeng, They tried promoting AMD BIG TIME, at intel's expense, and they fell on their face. Now that they woke up, and fired that fool who led them astray, maybe they'll have a chance..... Maybe. What are you talking about? They never promoted AMD. I noticed AMD mentioned maybe in 1 commercial (out of many). They bought AMD when they couldn't buy enough Intel parts. They showed AMD based parts prominently, when they couldn't get enough Intel parts, and when Intel parts were hopelessly outgunned. When the demand collapsed (Q3), Intel supply improved, and Intel was finally able to ship 1 GHz. Gateway got back in the bed with Intel. This period of time coincides with the time when Gateway fell flat on its face. Late Q3 through today. You should get your facts straight. Now let's look what this new relationship with Intel is doing to Gateway. Stock: siliconinvestor.com Let's see what the new P4 is doing for Gateway: Shares of personal computer maker Gateway Inc.
