Pete, Some more fun facts for you. The last balanced budget before Clinton (D) was under the Johnson (D) administration. Johnson inherited a $4.7 billion deficit in 1964, and turned it into a $3.2 billion surplus in 1969. The last time that a Republican had a balanced budget was in 1960, under Eisenhower. Eisenhower's last budget in 1961 was a $3.3 billion deficit. Eisenhower ran deficits for 5 out of 8 years. Republicans have been in the White House for 20 out of the last 32 years. Every single one of those years, the budget has been in the red. The evidence is clear. Republicans are fundamentally incompetent at managing the budget. Scumbria
