Well, as an adoptive and biomom, I read what you wrote with great interest.

I agree about the scent thing, but that doesn't last long. Your adoptive child's scent becomes as heady and compelling as your bio's. Mine did, anyway. And my sense of protectiveness for my adoptive child is actually stronger because she is vulnerable. This may be because she's a different race than I, and a racial minority here, though.
