WOW. W-CDMA Cell site momem supports a lousy 384 Kbps. So this is what the EUROfools bought
Billions worth of spectrum and are waiting years to get.

Qualcomm CDMA tec’s CSM5200™ Cell Site Modem (CSM™) is a
Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) digital baseband
modem for infrastructure and test equipment that supports the UMTS
Frequency Division Duplex-Direct Spread (FDD-DSalso referred to as
ITU IMT-2000 DS) third-generation (3G) air interface standard for mobile
telephony. The CSM5200 device provides significant capacity and
performance increases over previous generations of CSMs while offering
compatibility with existing Global System for Mobile Communications
(GSM) networks.

The CSM5200 device provides data throughput of up to 384 kilobits per
second (kbps) per user and up to 2 Megabits per second (Mbps) in
aggregate. Higher aggregate data rates can be achieved by cascading
multiple CSM5200 devices in any given cell. This provides a dramatic
improvement over the 9.6 kbps data rate offered by current GSM
implementations as well as the data rates achieved through evolutionary
standards, such HSCSD, GPRS, and EDGE.
