I believe you feel that way. But you cannot change the animal you, under the conscious you. I think at an animal level we always feel a difference about the adopted as opposed to the biological. Sensing that difference could make you overcompensate, as well as undercompensate. All I was trying to get at, with my post, is that being adopted is a very different experience from being born to biological parents- and my mother was uncomfortable with the fact that she never had a biological child- so I come to the conclusion that it was a different experience for her, too.

If you had never had a biological child, would you have been sad for the children you did not conceive? For the potential of your body and your genes that was lost?
