A usual test is a material change in a company's affairs. I'm not sure about the use of the word 'customer' in this context. 'Shareholder' is the word we should be using. Someone posted that the flare on #1 increased over a 5 day period- so if history repeats itself there will have to be several days of testing before any judgement can be made. A successful test would be of greater materiality to the shareholders of KOB than BKP, so I can't see why KOB, for example, might not issue a NR at the appropriate time, independent of the operator.

IMO, reports of the flare and its size and progress will (should?)have an effect on the stock prices. If the prices and volumes go wild the Exchanges might call a halt and ask for a release, but short of that the companies might wait some time before reporting.
