I had asked, over on the CIEN thread: Anyone care to take a stab at when critical Internet access penetration occurred? Jack's reply: My guess is within a year of so of the 56K modem intro... One of big disappointments with my upgrade to a cable modem is the annoying lag between URL request and delivery. Any ideas what causes this phenomenon? No complaints on file downloads though. ------- What is the approximate lag between hitting enter and when the download initiates?
